FlightGear community aircraft sound assets

Selected community FlightGear GPL sound samples for flight training. Not manufacturer-certified recordings. Original WAV files and native XML rules are preserved in audio-original-source.zip.

Full source duration retained, mono downmix, peak normalized toward -6dBFS with amplification capped at 8x, MP3 96kbps. No synthetic engine recording or newly claimed aircraft recording.

M2000
FlightGear Mirage 2000 contributors. BaBoOn (BACON Guillaume) recorded and sampled the reused Mirage IV sounds in November 2010; the original Mirage 2000 sound XML already uses this bank. Other individual sample authors are not identified.

Model-specific reuse and adaptations

a320: CFM56-B cockpit layers from original A320-family sound set.

b737: The original 737-800YV package uses shared FL2070 CFM loops (native XML names start a320_); this is a community sound profile, not a claimed 737-specific recording.

a380: The source supplies one Trent engine loop, reused for idle and running at different pitch/gain; no separate idle recording was found. Gear and wind are explicitly shared effects.

b787: Native 787-8 package cockpit whine and jet layers.

f16: Timi internal idle and N100 low layers; mono browser mix uses original left-channel recordings. The included flap-motor sample exists in the original package but is not referenced by the current native sound XML; its use for actuator motion is a browser adaptation. The warning role is native high-alpha airflow/buffet audio, not a spoken stall alarm.

f15: Original package jet-whine/exhaust layers; some samples are shared with F14 in the original distributions. The warning role is native high-alpha airflow/buffet audio, not a spoken stall alarm.

m2000: Original Mirage2000 sound XML mixes Mirage2000_Engine_Outside with BaBoOn Mirage IV turbine/wind/tire recordings. This reuse is retained and disclosed. This delta aircraft has no pilot flap command; no flap sound is attached.
